Renata Jungo Brüngger was born in Fribourg, Switzerland, in 1961. After completing her bilingual studies of jurisprudence at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland in 1985, she became a licensed attorney-at-law in 1989. While working as a lawyer, she attended an additional course of studies at the University of Zurich and gained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in international commercial law, specializing in intellectual property rights and technology and information rights, in 1998.
After completing her studies, she began her career as a lawyer at the commercial law firm Bär & Karrer in 1990. From 1995, she was responsible for the legal department of Metro Holding AG in Switzerland. She then worked for Emerson Electric Switzerland from 2000 to 2011 as General Counsel Corporate EMEA and Vice President/General Counsel Emerson Process Management EMEA.
Renata Jungo Brüngger joined the former Daimler AG (now Mercedes-Benz Group AG) in 2011, initially as Executive Vice President in charge of the Legal division. Since January 1, 2016, she has been a member of the Board of Management with responsibility for Integrity, Governance and Sustainability. She is also a member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz AG.
